As a company, Great Moving might have launched in 2011, but our history goes back to 1999-2000 when the current owners worked for moving companies around New York. While difficult, it was a great experience as they got to learn the ins and outs of both the business and this great city. More importantly, it gave our owners insight into why so many moving customers were unhappy with their experience. They noticed many of the same complaints such as:

After working for other moving companies for several years, the owners finally felt ready enough to launch their own company with the goal of fixing all the issues they noticed from their previous employers. Thus Great Moving was born in 2011 to serve Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. The owners took everything they had learned from their experience, both good and bad, and challenged themselves to create an amazing moving service that also offered competitive prices. While they started with a single truck and a handful of staff, today the company has grown to where they are able to handle almost every service you can imagine whether you need to move to a new home, move your business, store your belongings, or more.
When Great Moving launched in 2011, we only had one truck and a handful of movers. When it comes to hiring our movers, we have very strict requirements as we take our job and the safety of our personnel seriously. Before our movers are able to start their first job, they must first go through rigorous paid training where they learn safety practices on packing/unpacking, loading/unloading, and driving large trucks. We also provide mandatory customer service training so regardless of who you talk to you, you will be met with high-quality service.
Of course, the training doesn’t stop there. Our movers are knowledgeable of all current processes and we keep them up-to-date on the latest safety practices, regulations, and technology. We take the safety of our customers and employees seriously, which is why we always follow any recommended practices. Naturally, this means we also follow health guidelines for COVID-19. Our employees are all vaccinated and we continue to take daily temperature checks, sanitize our trucks daily, and make sure our employees wear masks and sanitize their hands before and after every mone.
