After you have whittled down your belongings, you can then start calculating how many boxes you will need. The smaller your home the less boxes you will need. So if you live in a small studio apartment, you probably will only need around either 12 large boxes, 15 medium boxes, or 18 small boxes. Great Movers will supply you with two wardrobe boxes for free when you use our moving services! Safety is Our Top Priority
While restrictions have been lifted on COVID mandates, we are still monitoring and adopting strategies for federal COVID and Monkeypox laws to protect you and our employees. All of our movers have received their vaccinations and boosters. We can present vaccination cards on site for all the crew members performing your move if your building still requires it. All you need to do is let us know the requirements at booking. And, of course, we take the temperatures of every crew member daily before the start of their shift. Anyone showing symptoms are sent home and cannot return without a negative COVID test from a professional.

1Buy more materials than you think you need
okay, we’re not just saying that because we sell packing supplies. Moving boxes fill up quickly and you want to avoid overstuffing them. Not only does it make the boxes heavier, it can also reduce the durability of the boxes and lead to tears. This tip also applies to other supplies such as bubble wrap and moving blankets. Paying for these upfront will be cheaper than replacing damaged items.

2Consider using specialty boxes
While the standard boxes are great for almost everything, certain boxes might work better for different items. We offer a range of specialty boxes such as china dish boxes, TV boxes, file boxes, lamp boxes, and more.

3Pack your lesser-used items first
It will probably take some time for you to pack everything up even in smaller places. Since you’ll still need basic supplies available while you pack, consider first packing away non-essential items first that you won’t need for the last week in your old home and first week in your new home.

you can use bubble wrap or go for a more DIY option and use blankets, clothes, towels, etc. The downside of the DIY option is that if something breaks, you’ll have to deal with glass or ceramic pieces in your clothes or sheets.
